Your score indicates you are experiencing moderate anxiety. Look back at the post at the specific stages of anxiety. Are you feeling anxious about possibly having anxiety? And what about your motivation direction and your decision making strategy? Did either of these descriptions sound like you? It’s really important to get a grip on your feelings now rather than allowing them to progress any further. As you can see in the stages of anxiety, it doesn’t end well! You want to stop this feeling in its track right now, don’t you?
If you haven’t already done so, check out the video on anxiety. It may be really useful for you to review some of the steps of reducing anxiety. Another suggestion is to schedule a session with a qualified NLP coach. The reason I suggest an NLP coach versus a counselor or psychologist is because in NLP we have a different way of looking at things. In NLP, we believe that anxiety isn’t something that you “have” it’s something that you “do.” There are specific things that you are doing that help to create the feeling of anxiety. First there is a behavior (or set of behaviors) then there is a feeling.
Think about it this way, if we took away the feelings of anxiety, how would you know you had anxiety? You wouldn’t would you? Just like if we took away the feelings of being depressed, you wouldn’t actually think you were depressed, right? So, this is what the medical world tries to do when it gives you medication – it takes away the feelings of anxiety. The problem is that when you remove the medication, and you haven’t sorted about the behavior that caused the feeling then you are right back where you started from.
Again, this is why I recommend an NLP coach because what we do is help you to create different behaviors that will lead to different feelings – you know like feelings of being in control, feelings of calm, feelings of “I’ve got this!” Wouldn’t you like to feel like that too?
