Our NLP formula is useful to remember in every situation you come across. It’s even more useful when you are guiding the choices you make in life by this simple concept.
Start with your present state. Bring your full awareness to where you are including what you see, feel, and hear about your current circumstances and the submodalities of each of your senses. What emotions are your experiencing? What behaviors do you have? What internal representations and internal dialogue are repeating in your mind?
Next, SPECIFY your DS if you haven’t already. If you have, just review your criteria and get that image back. Make sure you have clarity about what specifically your DS is.
Now, what challenges are you having? What is interfering in you achieving your DS completely and fully? Be real about this. Have you made decisions that have lead you away from your DS? Have you fallen back into old, habitual patterns and forgotten to keep your DS in mind? What can you start doing now that will overcome at least one of the challenges you face? Make a plan, create a strategy and start taking action!
And what about your resources? Have you identified all the resources that you have and need to obtain your Desired State? Are you using those resources? Are your resources part of your action steps?
When we create personal mastery, we are in control over our lives, we have the upper hand over our challenges, and we are consistently using the skills and knowledge we have.
As daily life continues to happen, as it does, keep in mind your desired state and allow it to guide the choices you make and actions you take. Every day, you are building a better you!
